With a multinational workforce in more than 100 countries, the newly launched Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (A/DEIA) in the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) works to ensure that the policies, programs, processes, partnerships, and people align with the core values of respect, empowerment, commitment to learning, and inclusion. The A/DEIA office came to us with the challenge to create a communications strategy that would bring to life the advancements they had made over the past two years.
Chaski conducted various interviews, meetings, and retreats with members of the Communications team in the A/DEIA, as well as other communications stakeholders and Division Chiefs within the office. To support a new integrated communications strategy, Chaski conducted a situational analysis on DEIA in the United States and in the international development landscape and met with different stakeholders across the agency to obtain buy-in. To align the strategy with internal processes, Chaski created a content schedule that aligned with strategically derived themes.
The comprehensive communication strategy developed by Chaski effectively amplified the visibility of A/DEIA’s efforts, driving measurable change in organizational culture and enhancing USAID’s global impact on diversity and inclusion initiatives.
