The United Way of Greater Charlottesville (UWGC) has long been a leading community partner in Greater Charlottesville. As UWGC’s breadth of impact has expanded significantly, their list of community services and engagement opportunities were challenging to understand and find on their previous website which had grown to over 130 pages. With a brand relaunch from United Way Worldwide tasking all partners to implement the new brand by Fall 2025, UWGC needed a completely redesigned website that clearly communicated their services and impact in a much more consolidated, user-friendly, and accessible site.

Process

Collaborating with stakeholders across United Way of Greater Charlottesville teams to thoughtfully restructure their website architecture, we ensured key messaging met internal strategic goals and was crafted for the right target audiences, and also clearly outlined focus areas and services. We led all project management from wireframes and high-fidelity mock ups to development, with a timely launch for their end of year giving campaign.

Results

  • Redefined services areas and target audiences
  • A consolidated website architecture that reduced page count by over 60%
  • A new design that matched the new brand and included key messaging, data points, and visuals
  • Corresponding rebranded collateral

Impact

Since launch, traffic and engagement on the United Way of Greater Charlottesville website has increased, with the redesign encouraging users to explore more of the site’s content and greatly improving interaction with the mobile site.
