In 2023, after six successful years of catalyzing biotechnology startups in the greater Charlottesville region, CvilleBioHub knew it was time to take their brand to the next level. With a now established reputation as a force in the Virginia biotech sphere the CvilleBioHub team wanted to ensure their identity reflected their elevated and growing status, and they were eager to position their annual Summit as a not-to-miss blockbuster event and cement their place in the community as respected connectors, conveners, and thought leaders.

Process

We took a strategic approach to the rebranding process, beginning with interviews of internal and external stakeholders, surveys of current newsletter subscribers, and an earned media analysis. Synthesizing these results, we engaged in an iterative process with the CBH board to create a new elevated brand, updated messaging, and set of collateral materials. Just a few weeks out from the event, we stepped in to take on the event’s production, removing the burden of production from the tight team and coordinating a design of a cohesive event sub-brand and all digital and physical assets, all logistics in the weeks leading up to the event as well as on-site and following, front- and back-of-house managing, calling the show, A/V running, and all vendor management.

Results

  • A full organizational rebrand that expanded the color palette that intentionally evoked growth, acceleration, and innovation into the brand logo and elements.
  • Revamped website, newsletter templates, and other collateral.
  • Annual Summit sub-brand
  • Event production support from top-to-bottom, activated on a tight timeline

Impact

The new brand and event sub-brand launched at a smooth, high-level event in October 2023, reaching 75+ companies with more than 2,000 employees. Since then, Chaski Global has supported every subsequent Summit with full-scale event planning and production and event brand designs.
