The Presidential Precinct brings together international fellows, global forums, and leadership exchanges for emerging changemakers—ages 25 to 35—committed to building thriving, just, and free societies. As a consortium of two prestigious universities (The University of Virginia and The College of William and Mary) and three iconic historic sites (Monticello, Montpelier, and Highland), the Precinct sits at the heart of American democracy. In 2017, the organization approached Chaski with two distinct yet complementary challenges: to modernize and unify their brand identity, and to design a culturally aware communications training that would equip their international participants with the tools to lead with impact across diverse contexts.
Chaski began by refreshing the brand, expanding the color palette, reimagining the website, and creating a suite of templates, brochures, and donor materials that emphasized the role of place in shaping democratic leadership. In parallel, our team drew on a decade of global communications experience to design interactive workshops covering personal branding, interpersonal communication, media training, and crisis management. These sessions were tailored to reflect the varied cultural and political environments participants work within and were delivered as half-day or full-day trainings.
The revitalized brand has supported new and deeper collaborations with U.S. government partners, universities, and local Virginia communities. Alumni of the communications training have launched high-impact media campaigns in countries like Guyana, Tanzania, South Africa, and Nigeria. In some cases, Chaski has continued working with participants to bring the workshops to their home organizations, expanding the training’s reach to over 150 additional professionals working in youth development and gender inclusion in the tech sector.
